Miessence Deodorant

I decided to review a slightly different beauty product today. I’ve been using this deodorant, in two different scents for quite some time now. As some may know, it is pretty hard to find a good natural deodorant. Some of them simply are not strong enough for daily use or some do not have pleasant smells. However, I have found that Miessence deodorants are so far pretty good in both those aspects. I love the smell of the Ancient spice one and the Tahitian Breeze one is pretty nice too. I find that they’re good for daily use, but maybe not for heavy duty stuff like if you’re exercising or something along those lines.  So I think it’s a great natural deodorant for daily use.

Natural Instinct Body Wash

A good body wash is something I’m always on the lookout for. I saw this at my local supermarket, and thought I’d try it out since I’ve used Natural Instincts products before and they’re pretty good. I really, really like this body wash. It smells great, and doesn’t make my skin feel tight afterwards the way some body washes do. I also like that it’s more natural than some of the ones I’ve used in the past, and of course that it’s cruelty free. All in all, a great body wash I’d buy again.

Natio Pure Mineral Concealer

I came across this concealer one day when I realised I’d run out of my regular one. So I popped down to Priceline, and grabbed this one to try. I wasn’t sure how it would look on my skin, but it works wonders on under my eyes (I tend to get dark circles), but on blemishes, it’s a little dark for me. I do like how it’s a brush, and that you can just swipe it onto your skin. It really brights my face up, and makes me look more awake. So I would get this one again because of how it looks under my eyes, but I’m going to keep looking for one to put on blemishes.

E.L.F Mascara

Apart from lip stuff, I also love mascara. I wear it every day, and kind of feel like I’m naked without it ;) So I decided to give this mascara, from E.L.F (Eyes, Lips, Face) in black, a go, since it’s pretty cheap. It comes with two mascaras in one – One end is water proof, and the other is regular. I mainly use the regular one, and found that it’s pretty long-lasting, and comes off easily with some water.
There’s no smell, and it doesn’t irritate my eyes. It stays on, and doesn’t smudge either.

I like how it comes with two mascaras, so you can choose from regular or waterproof, and it’s great daytime mascara for me.

Niyama Lip Glaze

I bought two of these lip glazes – One in Rosebud (On the left in the pic) and the other in Naturally Nude. The Rosebud one looks like a deep red in the tube, but goes on quite sheer. It contains cocoa butter, so there’s a subtle scent of cocoa butter, nothing too strong. The colour is sheer, and pretty. It doesn’t look or feel like lip gloss, but more like a tinted lip balm. It’s not bad, but the colour could be deeper.

The Naturally Nude has no colour, and feels a bit thin on my lips, as though I need to apply more of it. I like my lip balms to be thicker on my lips.

The packaging is adorable, I really like the look of it. I don’t know if I’d repurchase since I didn’t really like the Naturally Nude one, but I’d consider buying the Rosebud one again.

Crazy Rumors Lip Balms

Crazy Rumors is a lip balm, and their lip balms are natural and vegan, which I love. I’ve tried two lip balms from Crazy Rumors: Peppermint Twist, and Cola (Which is pictured here). I love the scents these lip balms come in! The Cola one smells like those candy cola bottles you can get, and the Peppermint one smells just like the name: Peppermint! The lip balms themselves are very moisturising, and they glide easily across my lips. I love the packaging, the whole retro feel of the tube is very cool. I'd definitely buy them again.

Pixi Rose Lip Treat

I bought this cute lip tint in Lip Petal, from Pixi, a company I haven’t tried before. In the picture I’ve posted, it looks like a peach colour, but on my lips, it’s a sheer pink shade. It feels moisturising on my lips, and I like how it’s a sheer colour, meaning I can put it on without using a mirror if needs be. I really like the tube it comes in – I think the rose pattern on it is very sweet (I'm a sucker for pretty packaging!). To me, there is no scent to it.
I’ll definitely be repurchasing this one!

Burt’s Bees Radiance Day Cream with 15 SPF

(Sorry I haven’t been posting lately – I’ve been sick :( )

I have been wanting a good day cream with sun screen that is a little more natural that some of the ones out there. I gave this Burt’s Bees one a go, and it’s not bad. It comes in a pretty bottle, which looks nice on the vanity. The cream itself feels nice on the skin, not too heavy, but still moisturising enough for me. It does have a whitish tint, but since I wear foundation/tinted moisturiser on top, this isn’t a problem for me. The only thing about this cream I don’t like is the smells. It’s not an unpleasant smell, but it tends to linger for awhile after you put it on, and I’m not overly keen on that. However, since it does have sunscreen, I will keep on using, but I might try some other day creams with sunscreen and compare.

Shizen Lip Tint

This tint is really pretty! I got it in the shade “Pinkie”, and it looks like a sheer, candy pink colour on me. I really like that it’s both moisturising and adds colour to my lips. It comes in a tall, thin grey tube, which looks quite stylish. It smells kind of like lemons to me, not unpleasant, but I don’t love it either.

I love the colour of this tint, it really pops and looks very pretty. Some tints I find are too sheer for me, but this one is quite bright and looks good. But at the same time, it doesn’t feel like a tint, instead more like a lip balm to me – That’s great, since some tinted lip balms can be very drying. Overall, I think it’s a good product, and one I’ll probably buy again.

John Masters Organic Lip Calm

I purchased this lip balm, after hearing good things about it, and I’m happy to say it lives up to the hype. The scent is a lovely citrus smell, and the lip balm itself is smooth and easy to apply. When I get dry lips, this balm is very moisturising and makes them feel better once more. The packaging itself is quite plain, and there’s no colour or tint the balm, which is fine by me.

Overall, I really like this balm, it’s one I would buy again as I love the smell of it, and find that it actually moisturizes my lips!

E.L.F Essential Shine Eraser

I recently bought this blotting paper, along with some other items from E.L.F (Eyes, Lips, Face). Their prices are very reasonable, and so far their products are quite good. The blotting paper is nice to use, and I found absorbed a lot of oil. I’m not a very shiny person, so while I found them to be quite handy, some may find that isn’t as effective for them. The packaging is small and thin, and fits nicely into a handbag or a clutch. I would buy this again, as I find the price reasonable and I like the product.

Face of Australia Massage Therapy Lip Gloss

I bought this Face of Australia lip gloss in Newcastle, which is a pretty pinky shade. The lip gloss itself smells like berries, and glides on nicely. I like the colour of it, as it makes my lips look both glossy and pink. I quite like lip gloss rather than lip stick, it’s more playful and I feel like you can’t mess up with it, and you can put it on without a mirror! This one is quite cheap, and looks pretty on my lips so I would buy this again, for sure!

I’ll review these soonish!

My Lip Stuff lip Balms

I love lip balms, they're one of my many loves in life! So when I discovered My Lip Stuff a couple of years ago, I was delighted. A lip balm company that has over 500 flavors? I’m there! I’ve ordered quite a few flavours over the years from My Lip Stuff, my favourites being “Strawberry Milkshake”, and “Blueberry Pie”. The balms themselves are thick without being greasy, and moisturise really well.I also like how natural they are, so I know I'm not putting anything bad on my lips. Worth getting if you love lip balms!

Burt’s Bees Honey Lip Balm.

As I posted before, I love Burt’s Bees hand cream, and so I tried this lip balm from Burt’s Bees. The packaging is cute, like all of Burt's Bees stuff. The honey smell is sweet but subtle, making it great for those who don’t want an overpowering scent. The actual balm itself is a little waxy for my liking, and on my lips can feel a bit thin, as though I need to apply more. I tend to like my lip balms a bit thicker, so this isn’t a favourite of mine. But it’s not a must-have of mine. I would grab it, if I  really needed some lip balm quickly, since it’s available in most stores, and at a reasonable price. But it’s not a must-have of mine.

Natio CleverStick

As I’ve said before, Natio is a really good brand – It’s pretty inexpensive, and I like the quality of their products. I bought this cleverstick (concealer, foundation, and powder in one with SPF 15) when I ran out of my regular concealer, and I really like how this looks on me. It makes my skin look smooth, and blemish-free, and adds a bit of warmth to it (I’m pale, so anything that makes me look alive = Awesome in my book.) Normally, I hate the way foundation feels on my skin, hence the reason I tend to wear concealer, but with this, it feels pretty nice on my skin, and I don’t mind wearing all day. It lasts a long time on my skin too. I’d definitely buy this one again.

Burt’s Bees Shea Butter Hand Repair Cream

I love, love, love this hand cream. My hands can get quite rough, especially in winter when it’s cold, and this cream really makes them feel smoother. When I first got it though, I didn’t really like it. It has a odd smell, and it’s a bit watery at times, but once I started using it regularly – I put it on at nighttimes before I go to sleep – I didn’t mind the smell or anything else, as it works so well. It’s quite thick, and will take awhile to sink in, but as I said, I use it at nighttimes so this isn’t a problem for me.
Overall, this is a really good hand cream.

Claytime Australia Mascara

A natural mascara, which comes in black and brown, from an Australian company called Claytime Australia. It comes in a light blue tube, with a mirror on the side – Very handy if you’re going out with just a clutch.

The look of the mascara on my lashes is very natural – It makes me look more awake, without being too obvious I have mascara on, so I like this mascara for daytime rather than night-time.

Slacking off

I meant to write something everyday for this blog. As you can see, I have not. So, I'm now attempting to get back into the swing of things, and hopefully will add pictures as well. I'll be reviewing a couple of products in the next week or so.

Beauty Habits

There are many different habits in our society. I’ve heard of people brushing their teeth after dinner to stop themselves from eating any more food, as a diet tactic. Some people like to apply hand cream or lip gloss repeatedly. Some habits are good ones, like making sure you cleanse twice a day – Once in the morning and once in the evening. Always moisturising after having a shower or a bath is another good habit.

There are some bad habits too – Like picking pimples, scrubbing harshly on your skin, things like that.

Some of my good habits are that I apply lip balm often, meaning my lips are rarely dry, or chapped. I also make sure I cleanse at night-time, and moisturise afterwards. I have bad beauty habits too, like picking at my pimples, and not always applying hand cream (Even when they’re dry!) – Habits I’m trying to kick at the moment!

What are your good and bad beauty habits?
